The fear and the pain that no one should bear The torture that led to these children's despair Rescued and taken they did not know where A remarkable place to which nothing could compare For once in their lives they experienced care Like the pain of the colt being born to the mare She forgets all of the hurt that she had to bear Once it is over and love clears the air The both of them snuggle to sleep in their lair And the comfort of closeness starts clearing the air So too these smiles stand for the repair Of freedom to live and to love and to share Instead of existing in an erstwhile nightmare Enveloped these days with enough love to spare And now mobile and active in each special wheelchair To come and to go someplace and somewhere The unthinkable dream when once TIED to a chair Has now come to be with a great deal of flare Because all of you wonderful people so rare That have opened your hearts for these children's welfare ____________________________________May the blessings you bestow on others be reflected back upon you, and all those you hold dear, for many, many years to come.
